Microtubules in living cells of tobacco can be visualized with a microtubule reporter gene. A chimeric transgene, containing microtubule binding domain from a mouse MAP4 was fused with the green fluorescent protein to create a cell line in which microtubules can be studied in vivo.
Microtubules and Goli stacks in living cells of tobacco visualized with a GFP marker for microtubule and dsRed for Golgi Stacks. This stable transgenic cell line was used to show that Golgi secretion is not required for accurate insertion at the site of the PreProphase band.
