GenBank / EMBL Data Library Submissions

The linked data files are being updated.  Last Modified Wednesday, July 26, 2006.

The aligned sequence data for the following studies of molecular population genetics are available in NEXUS format for use in DnaSP 4.0 (program written by J. Rozas, J. C. Sánchez-DelBarrio, X. Messeguer and R. Rozas, Universitat de Barcelona).  Importing the data into DnaSP allows the data to be output into a variety of formats including PHYLIP, MEGA, and NBRF.

The Alcohol Dehydrogenase Locus of Drosophila pseudoobscura

Schaeffer, S. W. and E. L. Miller have submitted 149 nucleotide sequences of the alcohol dehydrogenase region of Drosophila pseudoobscura and its close relatives to the EMBL / GenBank Data Libraries. Each nucleotide sequence from each strain is 3.5 kilobases in length.

The transformer Locus of Drosophila melanogaster

Walthour, C. S. and S. W. Schaeffer have submitted 10 nucleotide sequences of the transformer region of Drosophila melanogaster to the EMBL / GenBank Data Libraries. Each nucleotide sequence from each strain is 1.0 kilobases in length.

The Larval Cuticle Pseudogene Locus of Drosophila melanogaster

Pritchard, J. K. and S. W. Schaeffer have submitted 10 nucleotide sequences of the larval cuticle pseudogene of Drosophila melanogaster to the EMBL / GenBank Data Libraries. Each nucleotide sequence from each strain is .6 kilobases in length.

X-linked Genes in Drosophila pseudoobscura

Kovacevic, M. and S. W. Schaeffer have submitted 41 sequences each of runt, sisterless-A, period, Esterase 5, and Heat Shock Protein 83 to the EMBL / GenBank Data Libraries.  The first 40 sequences in each file are from D. pseudoobscura and the last sequence is from D. miranda.  The first 20 sequences of D. pseudoobscura (PSU_596 to PSU_633) were collected from the North Kaibab National Forest in Arizona (5 miles north of the entrance to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon on Rte. 67).  The second 20 sequences of D. pseudoobscura (PSU_994 to PSU1029) were collected from Davis Mountains State Park in Texas.  The joint file contains the concatenated sequences from the five loci.

Third Chromosomal Genes in Drosophila pseudoobscura

Eight genes from the third chromosome of D. pseudoobscura have been sequenced in 89 to 110 strains.  These strains carry one of seven inversion chromosomes derived from populations that span a geographic cline.
